Ocoee Royale

This is another fun, friendly race (and officially just another training run if anyone official asks); this time on the Ocoee. Be at Goforth Creek parking area at 6:00 PM ready to get in the water. We will float down together through the doldrums, then stop just above Table Saw to get into starting formation. The race will be from the entrance of Table Saw through the bottom of Powerhouse. Short Downriver style race with a mass start. Once again, no prizes, no rankings, just bragging rights (though I may attempt to get a small plaque made for the winner to keep and bring back in subsequent years). Also doing this one late in the release to allow raft guides who riverboard to also make it out to this one, hopefully.

For those unfamiliar with the Ocoee, I plan to be out there earlier in the day, so you can come make a run with me. I might also hit the Olympic course just a little bit.

The Ocoee is a hell of a drive for me, but I will have most of the next month off before my job starts up. Depending on how my cash situation is looking I might be willing to make the drive. Would you be able to run Saturday as well (or run something else in the IV-V range in the region), camp overnight, and hit it Sunday? If I can make a weekend out of paddling down in that area it would be nice.

I'm willing to make a run on Saturday, but I don't have anything else besides the Ocoee guaranteed to be running, so I can't promise any IV-V. Also be advised that I may be doing instruction on another river the day before, so if I have trips booked, I have to work them on Saturday. There's plenty of people on the Ocoee though, even if I'm busy.

Well, just keep me posted on what you're up to and what the water conditions are down there as the weeks roll on. August 22nd is still a month away so a lot can happen in the meantime.
