Event Description

Spring is on its way and so is the 2010 Northwest Creeking Competition. April 10-11 paddlers will confluence on the East Fork Lewis River just outside of Yacolt, Washington to find out who can navigate the class 4+ creek course the fastest.

The competition showcases the most competitive K1, R2, and IK down river creek races in the Nation. No other event offers the variety of whitewater racing disciplines in a down river class 4-5 creek race as the NW Creeking Competition!

The competition also offers a fun category for first time racers looking to test the waters. If racing isn't your thing then just come out and cheer on the competitors at scenic Sunset Falls Park where competitors will be launching off 15ft Sunset Falls!

Go get em Liz. Unfortunately I can't afford to travel cross country as often for the near future, as this sounds like an awesome river and event. I am looking forward to doing an Alabama whitewater fest in mid-March and competing in the Waterfall Huck jam, boatercross, freestyle events, and slalom over the three days of competition.

I'm not totally sure yet but I would like to. I'll probably know next week whether or not I'm going.

Alright... I know I posted the event.... but now I'm not going. I'll be raft guiding instead. :(

If you're on the East Coast below the Mason Dixon line, close to it, or coming into the area to board, connect with other boarders. For riverboardering, airboarding at Canaan, and whatever else you do at face level. Mid-Atlantics are welcome too.

Kind of related, has anyone seen one of these... http://2imagine.net/blogger2009/rapidfire2.html What I like about them is their ability to ride rivers when they are far too low to riverboard. I do not own one (yet) but I have been looking at the…

I'd be happy if people around my parts would quit calling it water boarding. "you been out water boarding lately?" "No, I'm not into torture."

I don't know how often you get this out west.. but in the midwest everyone seems to think stand up paddleboards are riverboards.  I constantly have to correct misperceptions about what a riverboard is.   I don't know how much of that is our sport ju…

I saw part of the movie premier "Haymakers" http://www.kayaksession.com/video186.php this weekend in Hood River and they showed the video footage of this. Turns out the kayaker I was with helped film. The lead-in is a maybe 4' wide slide.
