Kevin that's the best riverboarding video I've seen to date!! Now THAT is whitewater riverboarding. Great footage and great work on the clips. GoPro is going to be proud. ;-)

Thanks. You're year in review video of 07' was what gave me the idea. It was really just deciding what not to include at all and what to keep trimming. Don't know how many times I would trim a clip and then later, knock off another 2 tenths of a second just to try to eliminate boring parts or bad shots where I captured the trees instead of the water. I tried to stick with a principle of putting a shore shot or still photo in between the POV shots to avoid the monotony and think I only did two POV's in a row once. I only did one video crop on some of the Fish Ladder ladder footage of Bryce and it worked good because all the action happened in the center of the screen. Another shot that I tried it with (Jay Young getting on his knees while surfing) got blurry when cropped, but I love the fact that you can try something to see how it works and take it back if it doesn't work right. Can't wait to keep putting stuff out as we get more wide angle GoPro's; and if I ever graduate from I-movie to using Final Cut Express, then videos will be off the chain.

bravo...this great video! I love your action, Kevin.. you make riverboarding action felt very expressive and pumping great adrenalin, need many skill and bravery to do that.

Brian,
I need to sign up with one of those file upload sites/services, so I can let you download all the raw clips from the Penob. Keep reminding me if I neglect to do it. The Falls were awesome, so photogenic, and yet so easy. Hard to surf though. You just have to be lucky enough to jump in when it's not flushing. Crib Works wasn't too bad. The entrance was the trickiest: making sure you stayed on line while some good sized waves above the first drop were obscuring vision, but the rest felt easy. If you did alright with the entrance waves and hit the line you wanted to in Exterminator on the Rip. Gorge section, then you'll do fine with crib works.

Are you going to produce a video of Costa Rica? It would be interesting to see what we each come up with. I just started on it yesterday; we have so much to work with!

I'll do a few of my clips and some of the interview, funny stuff, but organizing receipts, fitness business, trying to make a proposal for legal riverboard access on the Tallulah, and what not comes first. So sooner or later.
