Event: The Dave & Busters Sandy Beach Pro

Today (July, 10th 2010) saw amazing Bodyboarding action, which was aided by a solid south swell and a rising tide at Half Point (Sandy Beach, Oahu). The waves pulsed all day long which allowed for an amazing event start, with big amateur performances from Keanu Casemerio,JB Hillen and Trevor Kam. These three where neck and neck all day, trading Air Roll Spins and Air Reverses in every heat they sat foot in. Keanu had a stand out heat in his Amateur trails that seeded him into the Pro event to compete against the best the US has to offer. He started off the heat with a solid barrel to Air Roll Spin, which set the tone for the rest of his day.
The Pro Drop Knee heats where once again all about Kauai, with David Hubbard leading the pack. However Bud Myiamoto stole the show with a massive front side air in his first round heat which landed him in first place. Sammy Morretino the youngest (12) of the Kauai domination was nothing short of phenomenal, throwing big backside tail slides and bigger front side turns to progress in his first National Pro event.
In the prone division Jacob Romero showed he is on a new level with a solid barrel to large scale back flip to send a few locals packing. Jeff Hubbard was consistent as always and made it through with flying colors by flying high. Paul Benco made his main round heat in the dying seconds. He progressed with a deep barrel to roll to beat David Hubbard and move on alongside 6x World Champ Guilherme Tamega to move on into the quarters.
