Forward motion, headfirst & horizontal to gravity!
I decided to go to Skydive Air Adventures, because it was the closest dropzone to where I was staying that had a twin otter (plane) and the nicest facilities… and what a wonderful surprise it was to show up and find out that
the plane they were using was leased from Skydive Spaceland (Houston, TX). It was one of the exact planes I had learned to skydive from; great to see an old friend!
So what can I say, the flights were awesome, I got to fly with 1-3 other birds on the jumps, learned some new exits, new docks, worked on some precision flying, aerials, and managed to get my new GoPros set up and
working to shoot some interesting angles. Now I’m warmed up and ready for my South African BASE trip coming up this Easter. WoOhOo.
Huge thanks goes to Matt Duckstein for the video and flights, and to everyone at Skydive Air Adventures. There’s
such a great friendly vibe there and I had a really good time; sorry I didn’t stay for any after jumping fests, but it was a ‘working’ weekend for me. Hope to be back next year, with another bird to add to the flock. :)
Video (coming later) and stills (from video) taken by Matt Duckstein (MGD) or me (JLD), using GoProHD.
There’s also few taken (by me) using the standard GoPro (you can tell which ones they are).
