Crossfit Training

So the local wingsuit cliff is heavily covered in snow, so not much going on in terms of flying during the winter. However, I recently started going to a Crossfit gym and am loving it so I thought I'd share some of my experiences.

f you haven't heard of it already, Crossfit is a strength and conditioning program that is spreading like wildfire across the globe. I was first exposed to Crossfit by a friend a few months ago, and after going to an introductory class, I've been addicted… Continue

Wood is Good!

I have been bodyboarding for almost 20 years now, and I must admit, about 12 – 18 months ago, I just got so jaded with the sport… I’d find more reasons not to go Bodyboarding than to actually paddle out, you know that “been there done that” feeling. This prompted me to start looking around at what is currently going on in the Surfing World / Industry, and in so doing have found some inspiration, and with it have started exploring some… Continue

I think National Geographic noticed the Face Level Costa Rica trip...

It could be total coincidence, sure. Maybe it's just that Riverboarding is rapidly growing around the world, and thus everybody's taking notice of this mind-blowing whitewater sport, so they decided to mention it in their latest round of awards.

The late Patrick De Gayardon - Wingsuit Pioneer

I recently ran across a video of Patrick De Gayardon, which led me through related videos until I looked up his story...he died tragically a decade ago testing a new wingsuit modification, but he was considered by many one of the great pioneers of the sport(s).

It'd definitely worth a read and viewing. The reading is here. The video is… Continue

It's -2 degrees? What?!

Ok, fair enough, the guy with the nickname of "Ice" is a wuss. But still, below zero, on the FAHRENHEIT scale? For reals?

I took off from the sunny 85 degree weather of the tropics and stepped off the plane in DC in flip-flops and shorts, because,… Continue

Thinking about bodysurfing

I did quite a bit of swimming during the AK Costa Rica Riverboarding trip. Not in the literal French translation sense of "swimming in the river" but actually swimming (in the ocean) in hopes of getting some good shots of the crew. I was surprised at how many bodysurfers I saw!…
