Anyone every whacked the top of their foot? Fins/booties don't give much protection. I had to end my day early and IK the next day. It happened right at the entrance to the best part of the run, right in front of REO rafting resort. There's a drop and a bit of something that threw me off balance, I recovered, but on the way down my right foot hit something, hard. The Elwah Dam has been in the news a lot lately. It's been about 40 years since the first request to have it removed. Sometimes things take awhile. Once things settle there will be new/old lines to explore up there. I've yet to run any section of it, maybe some day.

I was pretty nervous about running Horseshoe Bend at 1600 esp. since it was the first time I'd been on it this year, and was taking another riverboarder (Scott Janczyk) on it who had never run it, and without any kayak support. We hiked up to Bench and he said it all looked good to him. I mentioned we usually eddy out before Bench Drop and it might be advisable to take the right sneak line to avoid the hole, as the drop was maybe 3' into a mass of foam.
