Forward motion, headfirst & horizontal to gravity!

As of Thursday afternoon, then New is nearing 11 feet ( around 25,000 cfs ) and the Gauley river is releasing over 5,000 from the dam with over 2,000 more being supplied by the Meadow river midway down the upper section.

Driving up Friday night for a Saturday run.  Definitely going to do the New River Gorge.  If any other upper Gauley veterans are along for the trip, then I'm down for a high water run down the upper Gauley as well.  If not, then I think it would still be fun to hike down to Pillow Rock rapid while it's blasting high and run it either before or after hitting the New.

Let's do this!!!

The Lower Gauley is supposed to be very good play above 5k I believe, so you might want to consider that as an option as well.  I've been told that Sweets gets ugly at higher levels, so you might want to scout on the left once you get down there.

I'm out for Saturday; I have to pick up a boat in Albright, and by the time I do that I won't be able to get down there until the afternoon.  If you are staying over til Sunday I might be up for the Gauley/New/Meadow, just let me know.
