PRE Riverboarding Competition - 2009 FLRC Idaho

Riverboarding returns to the forks of the Payette with Extreme Downriver, Boardercross, and Freestyle Surfing on a TEN FOOT wave!

Riverboarders will have a chance to test their endurance with the long ExD and then go head-to-head in the sprint Boardercross race. Depending on levels, these races are most likely going to be held on the S. Fork Payette.

The Gutter has long been known to riverboarders and bodyboarders as a great surf spot, and the local talent made a strong showing across the country in 2008. But a 10' wave at the Bladder is unique even in their backyards, and it's likely to be a surf competition that will leave hardcore ocean bodyboarders drooling! A ten foot (!) standing wave, people...

There will also be a free safety clinic for all registered competitors given by legendary kayaker Sam Drevo and swiftwater rescue expert Les Bechtold.

This will be the biggest Riverboarding event in Idaho for 2009 and will count toward the 2009 Face Level Riverboarding Championships, so start planning your trip now!

Will there be riverboarding events on all three days? Or just two? If two, which two? We working stiffs need to know for travel planning :)

All three days. XDR-Friday, Surf- Saturday, BX- Sunday.

Right on. A little more recovery time in between events- nice! Hopefully no more freaking TIES. If I fly out on Thursday night will someone be in Boise to meet me? I want to move on the airfare quick - a 9 hour drive just doesn't seem very appealing.

So I am curious about what this "10-foot" wave is going to look like. Will it have a glassy section for spinning tricks or will it just be a massive 10-foot deep hole?
